Enjoy playing!

Welcome to this website, where a unique collection of music using numberchords is offered. This method, developed more than 100 years ago by Johannes de Heer, has helped many people learn to play psalms and hymns in a simple way. By placing a numbered strip on the keys, the method can be learned quickly and easily.

NumberChords

The story behind the collection

  1. About ten years ago, I started playing numberchords from the booklets by Johannes de Heer. Before long, I developed a desire to play a broader repertoire than just psalms and hymns. That's why I began transcribing sheet music into numberchords, which eventually resulted in hundreds of pages of handwritten music using this system.

  2. During this process, several obstacles emerged: not all musical notations could be directly translated into the existing numberchord method. After years of experimenting and refining, an improved numberchord system was developed, offering greater possibilities.

  3. The music pieces have now been digitized, and the content of the website is continuously being expanded. For questions or more information, you can always contact us via email.
